The Problem with Traditional Athlete Rehab
Here is the typical scenario when an athlete hurts themselves. They get their injury assessed, receive a couple of exercises written on a sheet (or worse…told to the athlete, so they have to remember!), go back to the clinic a few times sporadically over the next 6-weeks, and then given the green light to go back to sport.
The outcome of this situation is a chronically injured athlete that can never get ahead of their injury because they are underloaded during their rehab, and aren’t properly progressing to be able to tolerate full training.

About Speed School Athlete Rehabilitation Program (ARP)
Whether you have a small sprain or are recovering from reconstruction surgery, our athlete injury rehabilitation model is designed to get you back better than before your injury. Athletes are often stuck in an endless cycle of re-injury, where they do a few weeks of rehab, go back to sport, and get hurt again. This is because their rehab program doesn’t address the root cause and poorly prepares them to re-enter their sport.
By implementing our Speed School 5-Phase Rehabilitation Model, we can pinpoint exactly where you are in the continuum and begin programming a specific reconditioning program for you and your injury. With our 5-Phase Model, we’ll get you back sooner with a lower chance of re-injury.

Acute & Chronic
Injury Management
Whether it’s a small flare-up, a nagging issue, or a season-ending injury, we’ve got you covered. We offer specific programs for many types of acute injuries and chronic conditions such as:

12-Month ACL Return
to Play Program
Tens of thousands of ACL injuries happen every year in Canada. Many of these acute conditions result in surgery, and unfortunately, around 20-25% of those will result in a retear. Ensuring you have a properly designed program from the get-go is critical in getting back to where you were before the injury. Two major flaws in most ACL return-to-play programs are they underload the athlete for too long and then progress speed and agility training too quickly. This treatment plan results in an underprepared athlete that is too weak and moves too poorly to return to sport.
Our 12-month ACL program has been designed to give athletes a clear path during their sports medicine journey. This program is designed to start before surgery, helping to relieve pain safely, improve range of motion, increase quad strength, and develop overall movement quality before surgery. After surgery, you progress through a clear 5-phase model to carefully rehab the knee and reintegrate you back into sport-specific skills. We rebuild your strength, running mechanics, and ability to handle chaotic environments. Your body will feel prepared, and you will feel confident stepping back onto the field!

Keep in mind we do our best work once a physiotherapist has assessed you; this way, we can target our approach rather than guess. If you do not have your own therapist, we have a network of trusted sports physiotherapy professionals that we would be happy to refer you to!

Additional Information
- All weekly programs are auto-billed every 4 weeks, until canceled.
- A minimum 12 week commitment is required for all training programs.
- Athletes must complete Individual Athlete Performance Testing prior to beginning any program.
- Scheduling sessions is up to the responsibility of the athlete/parent. Unscheduled sessions are not carried over into the next billing cycle or prorated.
- 10% sibling discount.
